The POLITY Foundation is a non-governmental, non-commercial research and political consulting organisation founded in 1993. The Foundation was established to unite and co-ordinate the work of politicians, academics and businessmen in assisting the process of political and economic reforms in Russia, creation of a civil society and a law-based state. The priority areas of the Foundation’s activities are:
Since June 1993 the Foundation has sponsored the "Club-93", which brings
together leading politicians, entrepreneurs, media figures and political
analysts. The Foundation and the "Club-93" meet on a monthly basis to discuss
the most urgent topics of political and socio-economic developments in
Russia. Personnel Participation in federal, regional and international programs The Foundation collaborates closely with the leading Russian research and higher education institutions - the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Moscow State University, as well as with independent research centres (the Council on Foreign and Defence Policy, the Public Opinion Foundation, the Russian Centre of the Public Opinion Studies, the "Vox Populi" Public Opinion Research Service), to mention just few. The Foundation co-operates with leading media organisations - the national and regional press, radio and television, and biggest information agencies. We interact with the Russian business organisations - Menatep, Alpha-Capital, Inkombank, MosExpo, Most-Bank, Nipek, Renessanse Capital and others. The Foundation was involved in establishing the Oil Industrialists Union and the Fuel-Energy Council for Information and Co-ordination. The Foundation is involved in multinational projects in collaboration with international organisations and corporations (including the World Bank, the North Atlantic Assembly, the Aspen International Institute, the Carnegie Endowment, the Heritage Foundation, Hogan and Hartson, Converti, Solomon Brothers), research institutions in the USA, Britain, Germany, Sweden and Japan (New York State University, California Institute of Technology, the Commonwealth University, Colorado State University and others), and has on-going contacts with Moscow representatives of leading western press and information agencies and the Embassies.
